Gentle yoga is every Friday at 10.30am
Gentle Yoga for All
Gentle yoga classes take a therapeutic approach focusing on the benefits of particular yoga postures. This class combines restorative yoga, hatha and chair yoga to create an accessible way for anyone to enjoy the many benefits of developing a yoga practice.

It's a safe space to enjoy gentle movement, breathwork and meditation with a small group. All yoga equipment is provided.

Come along if you have limited mobility or want a very gentle practice. Perhaps you have had a break from yoga or other forms of exercise, or are easing back into movement after surgery? Maybe you have a chronic health condition and need some additional support and modifications?
There will be options for everyone and all are welcome.

1 hour classes run on Friday mornings at 10.30 in my Surbiton studio.
My Experience as a Yoga Therapist
I'm Lesley Muir and a Yoga Therapist and Teacher specialising in offering yoga practices for every body that emphasise the full health and wellbeing benefits of yoga. Practicing yoga has made me mentally and physically stronger. It taught me how to listen to my body and lead a more balanced lifestyle. It has helped me recover from many physical injuries including a severed Achilles Tendon and it helps me to manage chronic Raynaud's Syndrome and scleroderma. Most recently I have had two foot operations in under 12 months and used yoga to support my rehabilitation each time.
My regular yoga practice means I sleep very soundly every night and have a positive outlook on life and all its challenges. Yoga has allowed me to discover how to really be happy and live in the moment.
I have helped students to relieve symptoms of chronic asthma, chronic hip pain and knee injury, chronic lower back pain and spinal anomalies, like scoliosis and spondylolisthesis. I have supported students who have experienced trauma, sleep problems and insomnia, anxiety, depression and chronic stress. I have experience of ADHD, eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia and the more the widespread practice of disordered eating.
Many of my students have found relief from menopause and peri-menopausal issues through yoga practices. I have worked with students recovering from breast cancer surgery and post treatment rehabilitation, helping them to regain their sense of self, manage fatigue and move on to a new phase of life.

I have a special interest in supporting students with IBS and chronic inflammatory conditions and can offer very targeted practices to ease some of the symptoms these conditions create.

My teaching experience also includes working with POTS syndrome, cardio vascular conditions e,g. high blood pressure, and neurological conditions like Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease.
I have a detailed understanding of the complexity of managing chronic pain, the implications of brain injury through spinal injury, for example central cord syndrome and how yoga can help.

These are just some of the conditions I have direct experience of, but whatever your situation, I can teach you how to benefit from yoga - on and off the mat. Learn to feel better, become more self aware, contented and in tune with yourself.
